The investigation continues after five people were killed and three were injured in a shooting at two military facilities in Chattanooga on Thursday.
Four U.S. Marines were killed in a shooting at a military center in Chattanooga, and the shooter was also found dead. Three others were injured, including a Chattanooga police officer.
“We will be here several days processing crime scenes,” said Agent in Charge Ed Reinhold, a spokesperson for the FBI.
Agent Ed Reinhold with the FBI said they are still working to determine the motive behind the shooting.
Officials have not released the names of the Marines who were killed.
Police officer Dennis Pedigo is one of three who was injured in the shooting. Pedigo was shot in the ankle and is in stable condition.
Gov. Bill Haslam told the media on Friday morning that Pedigo is doing as well as can be expected and that his long-term outlook is “very encouraging.”
The identities and conditions of the other two wounded victims have not been released.
“Today is a nightmare for the city of Chattanooga,” said Chattanooga Mayor Andrew Berke. “Around 11 o’clock this morning, we had someone viciously attack, at two different locations, people who proudly serve our country.”
