VA Continues to Mistreat Veterans

A video from inside the Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center in Memphis is getting a lot of attention for a lot of wrong reasons.

It’s shot by a disabled veteran who says he was left unattended and didn’t receive proper medical care. In Nashville, many veterans say they’re having similar problems at their local VA hospital. “I had an allergic reaction to some medication,” U.S. Army veteran Jeremy Chapman said of a prescription he received from the Nashville VA Medical Center.

Chapman added slow response times by doctors cost him his mobility. “It took me a couple of months up here to get the knee brace,” he said. “It’s hurting me in other areas. Now I have back problems.” And though subpar medical attention is nothing to laugh it is a running joke amongst some military veterans.

“The government usually gets its products from the lowest bidder,” said a U.S. Marine veteran who did not want to be identified. “And it’s a joke that the VA gets its doctors from the lowest class.” But not everyone says the VA is all bad. (continue reading at Fox17)
