Will TN Democrats Vote for a Socialist?

Campaigns of both Democratic presidential candidates are starting to turn more attention to Tennessee as the nomination process moves to the South.

On the same night the Hillary Clinton campaign opened new campaign offices in Nashville, the Bernie Sanders campaign announced Thursday it would open its own campaign offices in Nashville on Friday evening.

Like the Clinton troops, the Sanders team has picked space in the heavily Democratic area of North Nashville for its office. The Sanders office, which his campaign is calling its Middle Tennessee headquarters, will be on Rosa Parks Boulevard.

Early voting in Tennessee began on Wednesday and continues until Feb. 23 until the March 1 primary. Sanders and Clinton also have new campaign offices in Memphis.

Sanders, a U.S. senator from Vermont, faces an uphill battle against Clinton in Tennessee, where a recent poll from Middle Tennessee State University found Clinton crushing him among registered Tennessee voters who self-identified as Democrats, 47 percent to 15 percent.
