Formerly Suspended, Then Retired, Fairview Chief of Police Rehired

Former Fairview Police Chief Terry Harris will be returning to his position just weeks after he was suspended and subsequently retired from the force.

The Fairview city manager said in a statement Tuesday that at this point in the investigation, the former chief has been cleared of any wrongdoing and will be returning to the position.

Harris was initially suspended on Feb. 5 after one of the department’s officers, Ronnie Williams, was arrested by Metro police in a prostitution sting.

After Williams’ arrest, an investigation was launched into hiring practices within the department.
