Another Civilian Killed by An Unnecessary Police Chase

Police say a driver was killed when suspects involved in a police pursuit crashed into his pickup truck in Tullahoma.

The chase began in Manchester when officers stopped an 18-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man for a traffic violation.

According to police, the suspects hit the driver’s side of the victim’s vehicle on the 600 block of S. Jackson Street around 12:15 a.m.

Joe Moon’s truck rolled several times before catching fire. Officers put out the flames, but the fire restarted later in the night.

Moon, 66, was a leader with the parks and recreation department for 40 years before retiring last year.

The suspects, whose names have not been released, were taken to the hospital. The extent of their injuries is unclear.
