Metro Considers Decriminalizing Small Amounts of Marijuana

A newly-filed ordinance in Nashville looks to decriminalize small amounts of marijuana.

It aims to amend Title 11 of the Metropolitan Code, which states it is a misdemeanor for people who knowingly possess or casually exchange a small amount of marijuana less than one-half ounce.

The ordinance would make it a civil penalty.
