Six Students Arrested in Williamson County for School Threats

As of Monday, six students had been arrested over recent threats made to Williamson County Schools, and another charge is expected to be filed Tuesday, April 21, officials reported.

Superintendent Mike Looney said if the seventh arrest is made Tuesday, it will conclude the arrests of those responsible for threatening several district schools last week and the week before.

This month, students from five district schools made threats either on school bathroom walls or via social media. In most cases, schools were evacuated as authorities searched the buildings where threats were made.

Thus far, there have been incidents involving students at Independence High School, Ravenwood High School, Centennial High School, Summit High School, and Heritage Middle School.

There has been one arrest in connection with one of two threats made to Centennial, one concerning a Thursday bomb threat to Ravenwood, one of an Independence student who surrendered on April 2 for writing a “kill list” on a school bathroom wall, one of another Independence student who threatened the school April 14, a Heritage Middle student taken into custody April 16 for a bomb threat, and a Summit High student arrested Monday for sending a series of threatening Tweets.

Of the six arrests, two are adults. Looney said he could not elaborate on details of the other arrests as they involve minors, and because the investigations are ongoing.
