A pivotal case concerning gay rights will be heard this week at the U.S. Supreme Court, and Tennessee will play a central role.
On Tuesday, the court will hear Obergefell v. Hodges, in which four states will defend their bans on gay marriage. In addition to Tennessee, Michigan, Ohio and Kentucky also will defend their bans.
