Taxi Drivers to Protest Progress, Competition

Nashville’s Taxi Association is planning a protest Thursday to raise concern about low speed vehicles and their continuing issue with ride shares.

The association told News 2 the transportation system is not safe anymore and names golf carts as part of the problem.

The low speed vehicles have become more visible downtown.
The first ones were put on the roads by Joyride Nashville.

The taxi association told News 2 the low speed vehicles are not safe because they do not have air bags or doors.

However, Joyride Nashville Director of Marketing Grant Rosenblatt told News 2 the vehicles are not only safe, but they adhere to all the vehicle rules of the road like taxi cabs. (continue reading at WKRN)
