A woman who has overcome her addiction to drugs is now paying it forward and helping others successfully recover.
Jamie Johnson told News 2 she has been in recovery for eight years.
“I was addicted to heroin, but today I live a free life in recovery,” she said.
Johnson now helps others who are trying to get over heroin addiction.
Heroin is a drug that can affect anyone and Johnson is the perfect example.
She said she was the top of her class in high school, always on honor roll and she played sports. She said her future was right in front of her, but she also liked something else.
“Everything in my life was great except I loved to get high,” Johnson recalled.
She said her addiction started with prescription pills before she began using heroin. (continue reading at WKRN)
