Nashville State Discovers When School Is Free, Demand Increases

Nashville State Community College has announced plans to open a satellite campus in Madison.

In a release, the college said it recently received permission from the state building commission to issue a request for Information related to the acquisition of property in the general Madison area.

“Access is a critical factor in an individual’s ability to pursue a higher education degree,” George Van Allen (pictured), NSCC president, said in the release. “The Madison area was selected because of the demographics, as mirrored by the enrollment patterns of Stratford and Maplewood High schools and the approximately 50 percent poverty rate of those in the area without a college degree.” (continue reading)
