own behalf for nearly 25 minutes Wednesday and delivered the shocker of the trial.

“I took the blame for my brother,” Davis said when questioned by his defense attorney, Randy Lucas. “I didn’t kill her.”

The entire courtroom sat in stunned silence as Davis has admitted both on video and in writing that he was the killer.

Lucas turned away from the podium with wide eyes after hearing Davis’ response.

He was silent for about four seconds.

“What did your brother do?” he asked Davis.

“He killed her (Melanie Davis) with a sledgehammer,” Davis replied in his characteristic low monotone and almost robotic voice.
