With the city growing and traffic getting worse, you may be finding yourself speeding to make up for lost time. But where are you most likely to get caught?
The Channel 4 I-Team analyzed tens of thousands of speeding tickets. We searched for hot spots, the places in Davidson County where the most drivers get pulled over, leaving many to question whether tickets will truly ever deter people from breaking the law.
Maybe you were late for work or didn’t know the speed limit. It’s even possible you needed to use the bathroom. Whatever the reason, you name it, and police have heard it.
“It’s kind of like that child that when mom and dad aren’t around or teacher isn’t around, they think they can get away with a little bit more than they normally could,” said Sgt. Bob Sheffield of the Metro Nashville Police Department.
Stand near any road in Nashville, and you’re bound to find drivers speeding – sometimes several within the very same minute.
But where do drivers routinely get caught?
The I-Team analyzed data from more than 12,000 speeding tickets written in Davidson County between March and June.
