Tennessee taxpayers lost $763 million to government waste last year, according to the 2015 Tennessee Pork Report, unveiled at a press conference in Nashville on Tuesday by the Beacon Center of Tennessee.
Beacon, a free-market think tank, reported at least 70 instances of government officials at the local and state levels wasting taxpayer dollars.
The report cited many of Tennessee Watchdog’s previous stories, some of which reported waste in the millions.
Oddly enough, the very worst example of pork, as determined in an online poll last month, cost only $46,000 — the controversial new Tennessee logo.
